Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just recently graduated from esthetician school and am working on my internship before I get my license. My schools program is 1 year 860 hours. I can say I’m fairly confident in my knowledge of skin care. But during this past year of me being in school I’ve struggled with acne and nothing has been able to help. Before I started school and knew nothing about taking care of my skin my daily cleanser was st. Ives green tea scrub 🤦🏻♀️ but I have to say I never had a single blemish. In school of course we learned every skin type need to moisturize including oily skin type. So that’s what I started doing and slowly my acne started getting so much worse. Then I started using chemical exfoliates and broke down my acid mantle and had a terrible reaction. My teacher gave me a facial and told me to stop using so many products and keep my routine to wash and moisturize for a month. My skin started looking a lot better and wasn’t so sensitive. But it wasn’t long until it started breaking out again and then getting worse. At this point I was so frustrated because I was applying all my acquired knowledge and my skin was not improving but getting worse. I switched products and followed my routine morning and night would see improvement but then right back to active breakouts. One night I forgot to moisturize and for the first time in months I didn’t wake up with a new breakout so I did it again and my skin has been looking so much better it’s now been a month and the only thing I’m doing is cleansing my face at night sometimes in the morning. I haven’t had a single pimple pop up in this time and my scarring is beginning to fade. I’m happy to finally be seeing improvement but I know this goes against everything I was taught. Anyone have advice or similar experience?
