Beauty Tips For Body Care
Just for background I've been on and off this sub for about 5 years,I first found it when I was 20 years old in college and started suffering very heavily with acne and scarring. I told myself if I ever found any kind of solution I'd come back here and write this for the people scrolling desperate for any kind of a solution to a problem that can affect what feels like every aspect of your life.I tried every topical possible or scrubbing brush or whatever somebody claimed helped fix there skin and nothing made any kind of dent in it. It was so bad it completely killed any and all confidence I had and let it totally derail my life losing almost 4 years, practically hiding from other people because I was embarrassed and jealous of people with nicer skin. I know there's the whole philosophical aspect of living your best life, not caring about what others think, but it can be very difficult despite your best efforts. I'd gone to dermatologist after dermatologist looking for different topicals or medications to make any kind of a difference, but nothing did. Every dermatologist ended up recommending Accutane, but due to price and what I've heard about side effects I avoided it, prolonging my stupid struggles.I'm not writing this with the intention to boost popularity for the drug or to be it's biggest proponent. I just want anybody who feels like I did, that they have no options and that nothing will work, that there is something that will most probably help cure their acne. Out of sheer depression and longing for any kind of help, at the 4th dermatologist I went to, I finally gave in and went for the Accutane. Six months later all of my acne has faded, scarring has improved, and normal color is slowly returning. Again for anybody who happens to scroll by this and see it, i just want to offer some advice especially if you're in a bad place.Don't let your looks period, including your skin, or anything you're self conscious about define you and take away any time from you like I did. It can seem impossible, but you're worth more than that and you can never get that time back. Seriously I know that this is asking alot but fuck other people it's your life.Don't stop trying different things to fix it if that is something you want. While different topicals, routines, and medications didn't work for me, they may always work for you, you don't have to suffer with it. Just don't wait for time to make it go away because there's never a guarentee of that.See a dermatologist and do whatever they recommend. If you have no trouble paying for Accutane and a dermatologist is recommending it to you, weigh the pros and cons. If you're desperate for a solution I would heavily recommend trying it i wish I didn't wait so long to do it.I don't have any before or after pics because I couldnt stand taking pictures of myself at the time. I know what it's like to feel like you're suffering in silence with skin problems, this sub is a great community, if anybody feels like they have any questions or need to vent feel free to dm me, and anybody curious about Accutane check out r/Accutane for more info and another community if you decide to go for it.
