[Review] Battle of the Gentle Skin Cleansers

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm sure one of you reading this at the moment is going through the acne phase of 'everything must be breaking me out ahhhh fragrance ahhhhhhhh I WILL ELIMINATE IT ALL' so this is for you bud. Just wait till you get to the point of questioning even the good ingredients too lol (lowkey hyaluronic acid is on my list... i'm watching you right now hyaluronic! =.=)I would have loved to see a review of some of the most basic cleansers in one place when I was looking for the right one for me.... so here is some basic-a$$ cleansers i've tried and are targeted to cleanse gently with reduced irritancy factors. I look for a cleanser that is fragrance free, uses less stripping surfactants and is texturally more luxurious (luxury to me is where it has some slip and some lather to it). The less ingredients the cleanser has the better!Cerave Hydrating Cleanser:Texture: Gel-creamEfficacy: Does not lather much at all, does it's job to remove dirt and sebum without stripping however wouldn't recommend for makeup or waterproof sunscreen. Texture feels quite boring and the cleansing process is meh. This one could leave my cheeks feeling quite warm in times my skin was more sensitive from actives.Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (Parabens don't bother me but note to if you care)Texture: Cloudy- runny gel.Efficacy: This one bordered on the edge of being able to cleanse sweat and nothing else for me. Very boring, standard cleanser. No lather, no substance. I actually felt sad using this haha but in time's where you are really desperate to figure out triggers in your skin - I can understand why people gravitate to this but... if it's not cleansing properly I don't understand why you'd want to use it?Cerave Foaming Cleanser:Texture: Similar to hydrating but with a bit more substance to it. Definitely took a little more pressure coming out of the pump than the hydrating cleanser.Efficacy: Definitely has more of a foaming lather as you'd expect from the name lol however I wouldn't say it spreads to a lather immediately. More so when you add water a little at a time. Found this a little (just a little) stripping on the skin, nothing to the point of damaging my skin barrier but would leave me a little dryer than appreciated. Could be more relevant for oily skin types.Vanicream Gentle Skin Cleanser:Texture: Oi! you lot above, this is what yall call a nice experience. Cream texture.Efficacy: Nice slip to it, lathers well and rinses well. I definitely enjoy the experience of using this and have repurchased a-many-a times. I will say that I definitely think it can overstrip if you were to overdo the cleansing step, but I suppose that's the same with most cleansers if you were to keep them on for a considerable amount of time. I can do about a minute of massaging into the skin before I'd rinse.Simple Micellar Gel WashTexture: GelEfficacy: Surprisingly, this became my new favourite cleanser and it's so darn cheap. Despite it's gel texture it lathers just as well as vanicream and for me, provides the perfect amount of cleansing. Contrastingly to what i mentioned above; I could massage this in for ages and never feel stripped from it; but I definitely feel clean from using it, not in a stripped manner at all. Wonder why i overlooked this cleanser in drugstores for so long...One's I haven't tried but I am intrigued by but have not purchased:Etude House Soon Jung 5.5ph cleanserLa Roche Posay Hydrating Gentle CleanserI hope this helps some of you in your journey to find a product that works for you. Peace outtttt!
