I'm after some REAL info about The Ordinary. [Product question]

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi guys. Over the last few months I've become more and more curious about this brand. What makes it so cheap. Things have high percentages, but are they truly active? How active can they be to get through regulatory requirements for what is just a department store brand? Looking at their website, the pH of the their products seems perfect for ensuring their ingredients function, but I have also tried a couple of things and certainly haven't found them as good as my medical grade skincare - although some of the percentage claims on their ingredients are higher! Google searches provide me with nothing but what seems to be cult reviews, as does Reddit searches. Is there anyone out there who can talk science with me?::Edit:: I think I need to put this here - where I live, in NZ we have medsafe which regulates everything, including cosmetics. There are extensive lists of ingredients which aren't allowed to be included, and regulations for the use of things like nano particles. I assumed that would be the case for many countries but I've already had one scathing response that would indicate I am mistaken. But as I said above, I'm really looking for info on the science of The Ordinary, not opinions on pricing etc. Thanks (灬º‿º灬)♡
