Beauty Tips For Body Care
So, like many of you, I am stuck at home for an infinite amount of time. Naturally, I've been spending an unhealthy amount of time on the internet/social media and I've noticed a... semi-alarming trend? Many of the folks I folks I follow on IG are more science-leaning, rather than being your average influencer. Easily, one of the most common questions/comments coming up is whether or not people should still be applying sunscreen if they're spending all day at home. Now, I'm not going to name-name's, but I've seen many influencers stating they should still be regularly applying sunscreen, and using the usual amount. When other people push back on this, the influencers give the usual retort of "Well - UVA rays still penetrate through glass and can cause collagen-degradation, premature aging, etc. etc. etc."Now, I know that especially in this time, we should be spreading more positivity. But when I read comments like that from influencers, I immediately think "Jeeze, this person has an unhealthy concept of aging/self worth." Honestly, how afraid of aging are you that you have to be slathering on sunscreen in doors?! How is that a healthy mindset??For me, I have been doing the bare-minimum in terms of skincare; cleansing and hydrating once a day. Sometimes, I go out for a walk during the daytime, but most of my walks are in the evening when it's very low sunlight. In which case, I don't bother applying sunscreen. Also, on another personal note, I have been laid off (like many people). Knowing that many people no longer have a steady income, is it really necessary to still push heavy sunscreen application? Shouldn't people save their money for more essential things (rent, bills, food, etc.).I am 100% on team science, and all for sunscreen, but I'mma just say it - I don't think people need to worry about applying sunscreen when they are 99% indoors. At this time, it's just not important. For me, sunscreen's #1 use has always been cancer-prevention. And the fact that many of these science-y influencers are quick to (basically) use aging-scare tactics to get people to slather on SPF is SHAMEFUL. AGING. IS. NORMAL.-end rambling-
