[personal] Doubling my protein has transformed my skin

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Maybe this isn’t super revolutionary to anyone else since every skincare guru mentions a balanced diet is crucial for your skin, but for me, seeing the results has been mind blowing.I didn’t have terrible or even bad skin before. It was more so temperamental. It looked dull, my pores were enlarged, and it generally was prone to random (albeit small) breakouts. No number of peels, serums or exfoliation made my skin look noticeably “good.” Basically I’ve never had anyone comment on my skin being nice beyond saying it was decent. That’s literally what it’s always been, not good or bad just decent.A few weeks ago I decided to double my protein intake for a fitness related goal, and I’ve been kind of shocked at how it has affected my skin.My skin all of a sudden is super smooth, even, and honestly glowing. It’s been shockingly different to the point that people have been commenting on how nice it is.At first I thought it was the fact that I moved to a new area with less pollution and better water, but after having traveled to visit family this week and seeing no change either way, it kind of dawned on me that the only other change I’ve made is my protein intake.I upped my protein from probably about 40-50 grams a day to ~100 grams a day. I’m vegan so all protein sources are plant based.I use organic face cleanser (alternating between Acure brightening cleanser and sibu polishing scrub), sunscreen and several products from the ordinary (lactic acid 10%, hyaluronic acid + b5, niacinamide + zinc, retinol 0.2%, the AHA peel, and their everyday moisturizer).I take good care of my skin with a routine already and I’m sure I’ll still have a breakout here and there but this has honestly been the most transformative thing for me personally.Has anyone else experienced this effect?
