Beauty Tips For Body Care
I used to have a REALLY BAD skincare routine. I knew nothing about skincare. I used lots of DAMAGING and harsh products on my skin that I thought were helping. Now I know that gentle cleansing, moisturizing and SPF are the most important things. But I am sharing my old routine as an example of WHAT NOT TO DO. Do NOT do the routine below!!!!! This post is mainly for humour.AM:Wash skin with benzoyl peroxide wash. Do this 2 or 3 times with scalding hot water to REALLY clean it.Follow up with salicylic acid pads, wipe that stuff all over, really scrub it in. You want it to sting and burn.Ouch, face hurts now. Time for good old witch hazel to “soothe it” (witch hazel is loaded with alcohol by the way) the rose or lemon scented one is even better because fragrance is awesome!Ok, time to apply the retinol serum for day time (because retinol during the day is fine, right?)Wait, let’s apply 4 or 5 drops of pure tea tree oil so we can REALLY dry this skin out!Hmm, SHOULD I apply moisturizer? My skin is so oily anyway, I don’t think I need it! Okay, I’ll apply a tiny drop of this mattifying hydration serum that smells like a bouquet of flowers.Sunscreen? HAHAHA NO WAY. Not a chance! I would NEVER put SUNSCREEN on my FACE??!!!PM: Repeat the exact same routine as the AM because it really doesn’t matter which products go on at night or during the day, right?....Whenever I feel like pampering myself, or when my skin looks like Shreks, I’ll do an exfoliation. But I don’t need to spend money on a chemical exfoliant, I’ll just mix my own up at home!Exfoliate 4 times a week at least with a homemade coconut oil and white sugar paste. Really scrub that stuff in. Get all the dead skin off (and live skin too, what the hell...) but careful, the coconut oil leaves a residue, so be sure to not just double cleanse, but triple or even quadruple cleanse after! Moisturizer not required afterwards.Time for a face mask! Hmm... what sort of potion can I whip up with ingredients in my fridge... how about cinnamon, lemon juice, olive oil, some tea bags and orange juice. Great, that is super good for the skin and not extremely irritating at all!EDIT: Totally forgot to mention slathering raw, undiluted apple cider vinegar on my face as well. This was part of my daily routine.Still can’t figure out why my skin is so red irritated and inflamed???? I guess I should use more alcohol and scrub my face harder????
