Beauty Tips For Body Care
TLDR: SCA helped break my internalized view that caring about acne is "vain," and helped me understand that acne is a valid reason to visit a doctor. This is just a quick thank you to you all.The most life-changing advice I read here is to visit a doctor if your acne isn't getting better. Acne isn't a cosmetic/vanity issue. Don't let anyone--friends, family, trolls on Reddit--tell you otherwise. I had internalized that view for over a decade and here I am at 27 years old, finally taking Accutane after wasting a tremendous amount of time, money, and mental energy. Thanks to my dermatologist, my skin is clearer than ever but I now see ice pick scarring that could've been avoided if I had treated my acne earlier.I had this internalized misconception that caring about my acne was vain...that acne was just a cosmetic issue that's curable with a good skincare routine (preferably arranged into a beautiful shelfie). For YEARS I crawled this subreddit, did hours upon hours of research, and spent probably thousands of dollars on products. I thought if I could beat my acne if I just did enough research, bought the right DE product, or cracked the code to an effective combination of TO topicals. I thought I could do it on my own. I never even considered acne "medical issue" that warranted a visit to the doctor.I just wanted to say thank you SCA for all of your valuable advice, especially about visiting a doctor for acne. Along with CereVe PM it's been truly life-changing! Wishing you all the best in your respective skincare journies--no matter which path you choose to take.
