Beauty Tips For Body Care
Maybe it’s because I’m in my mid-20s and can more or less responsibly consume YouTube videos that are meant to help with beauty concerns, but I honestly do not see why people hate on Hyram so much. I’ve never had a Tik Tok, and I happened across one of his videos while searching for a simpler skin routine or a review about a product (I forget which). What I found was that:1) He made it very clear that he had no professional credentials to back up his skin care reviews and advice. He has also admitted to making mistakes like about the difference between silica and silicone. He openly admits to be constantly learning.2) The skin care community is full of so much jargon and he presented the information in an entertaining (sometimes corny) and digestible way while trying to promote eco friendliness and spotlight issues such as sunscreen for darker skin tones.3) He offers his opinion in such a way that encourages you to do your own research about a product, and has said many times that even if he himself doesn’t like a product for whatever reason, if it works for your skin then who cares what anyone says.It seems to me that he’s a solid, approachable, if imperfect, introduction into skincare before you start going into SCA level of dedication (ie dermatologist/aesthetician recommended). Also to be honest, I don’t care about how he calls himself a specialist because I know when I walk into Sephora or Macy’s or what have you, I expect the employees to know more than I do. And I will always cross reference information I get from the internet. Sure he’s “capitalized” off of it, but let him secure his bag, he seems to have created a heightened awareness at least about ingredients and hopefully made his fans a little more thoughtful about what they put on their skin.In short: Hyram puts disclaimers all the time, it’s a nice intro to the world of skincare, do your own research and be a responsible consumer of YouTube videos, and it’s not that serious.
