Beauty Tips For Body Care
My skincare journey started when I was in about grade 6. When I hit puberty, my skin started freaking out. I was getting clusters of acne (basically they looked like small bumps) all over my face, back, arms, and chest.Over the years, I tried mostly everything. Probably every topical active you could have, plus Accutane, plus oral antibiotics, plus birth control. Nothing really worked.I think about two years ago, I found out about fungal acne from a post either here or on r/AsianBeauty. I had been trying a bunch of asian beauty products at the time, but none of them seemed to really work for me.So I did more research, switched to a mostly FA friendly routine. That helped control things a lot, but I still had clusters of acne around my temples and back. My dandruff never improved either. In the last few months I finally realised I had to switch my entire haircare routine to be FA safe also. I think the products would get on my face when I sweated or from rolling around in my sleep.I was reluctant to do so because I follow the curly girl method for my hair, which is also pretty restrictive. Did more research, found products that worked for CG and FA. It was hard, I won't lie!And finally, for the first time ever... I'm proud of my skin. All the old acne is clearing up, and it just keeps getting better amd better. I'm not afraid for people to see my face in the sun anymore. So without further ado, here's both routines!Skincare AMwash with water (or Bioderma Sensibio micellar water if I feel real greasy)Bioderma Cicabio creamNivea sun super water gelSkincare PMBioderma Sensibio micellar water using a konjac spongeTimeless squalane oil mixed with Bioderma Cicabio creamCurly hair routineshampoo with Phillip Adam Apple cider vinegar shampoofinger comb through Phillip Adam Apple cider vinegar conditionersquish to condishscrunch in curl keeper originalscrunch in garnier fructis pure clean gelI use Nizoral shampoo on both my scalp, face, and upper back about once a week to treat my fungal acne.I have found for me that less products in my routine is better. My skin is happy, my scalp isn't itchy, and my dandruff is going away. I feel weird almost like I can't believe my acne battle may be over soon. For anyone else who feels like the journey never ends, if you keep at it, you will find something that works for you. Don't give up!
