Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've tried (and been burned literally and financially) many high-end, dermatologist office recommended products in the past: Dermalogica, ZO Medical, Obagi, Paula's Choice, Riversol, and Environ. I always feel a pit in my stomach about spending that much money, then I'm disappointed with the results and don't continue with it once the bottles are empty. I go back to my more simple, drug-store products (Cerave) and The Ordinary, plus my Retin-A 0.025%.I am 44 years young and I have pretty good skin considering - not really any wrinkles or fine lines, BUT I've always had adult acne and melasma (triggered by birth control in my early 20s), which I've spent so much money on to maintain and control. In the fall, I am going to get a series of treatments (either clear & brilliant permea or picoway resolve - not sure yet still doing a consult), but the clinic is insisting that I start on a routine of SkinCeuticals for 6 weeks beforehand --- at $200 per product!! Now I cannot stomach doing that and I know for me that it isn't sustainable. I'm not cheap, but I saved a little money to have these laser treatments - I didn't budget for $600 more just for serums and cleanser!?Can someone please tell me why these are so expensive!?? Even more so than any other brand I've tried!?ETA: I'm not ALWAYS super disappointed with the results, but as a full-time single mom without child support, I just can't justify that regular expense to keep it up, but also-- my skin changes a lot. What works beautifully for a few weeks plateaus and then I need to switch up my routine for another few weeks. I rotate thru routines, depending on the season, so I have a LOT of products on my shelf :)
