[Review] Kravebeauty Great Barrier Relief, tested on Rosacea skin

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi all, I'm reviewing the highly raved Kravebeauty Great Barrier Relief (GBR). I've used it for more than a month now, and here are my thoughts.Product: Kravebeauty Great Barrier Relief Price/size: $44 (Singapore dollars) for 45mlI've been following Liah Yoo for a while, and out of all her products, I was really excited to try the GBR as there are countless good reviews on how this serum has helped many to hydrate, repair, soothe and glow. It's basically marketed as band aid in a bottle.Comes in a beautiful glass bottle which is aesthetically pleasing and feels very luxurious. Smells extremely nutty (and herbal?), but gradually got used to the smell. If you're someone who is sensitive to scents, think long and hard before taking the plunge as this is quite pricey. My skin is dehydrated with obvious pores on my forehead, inner cheeks and mid chin and my main aim was to increase hydration and improve pore appearance, which the serum's ingredients claim to help with. Other than that my skin is overall smooth with little to no zits. I'm adding this serum to a routine I've used for a very long time.My routine : Cleanse - GBR - Moisturiser - Sunscreen. Same at night without the sunscreen.First impressions: thick, rather gloopy, and not at all like a usual serum. Applies like a thin moisturiser. Sinks in after a while, left my skin slightly shiny but nothing I can't accept. Smell is strong and dissipates only after an hour or two. So far so good. One week of use: my skin feels tight. At first I thought it was the serum doing its thing and reversing ageing thus the tightness, but my skin got rather textured and dry on the surface, kind of like a sandpaper texture. I decided to continue using the serum and see if it improves. Two weeks of use: skin developed itching with the sandpaper texture, and I started breaking out in places I usually never ever break out at. Thought it was just my sensitive skin getting used to a new product so I decided to continue with it but only once at night rather than twice a day.In the third week of use, I suddenly developed a boil / cystic spot right smack in the middle of my right cheek. It got so swollen so quickly, and started oozing yellow liquid. This came as a shock to me as I've never ever in my life had a boil /cyst on my face before. I went to the doctor and they put me on oral and topical antibiotics to prevent scarring. I stopped the GBR and only used my usual skincare products. The boil was gone in a week luckily. I'm not sure if this was caused by GBR but it was the only new thing in my routine.By end of week four, my skin was back to normal, no zits no itching not much dryness and overall smooth again, so I decided to try the GBR again. After just one application at night, the reaction this time was fast - I woke up to itchy and sandpaper-like skin and broke out in itchy bumps.I conclude that I'm definitely allergic to something in this serum and will never use it again. If you have sensitive or reactive skin I'd caution you to patch test for a longer period before going in with a full face application.
