Beauty Tips For Body Care
Not sure if this was posted before but a few days ago the HK Consumer watchdog released this https://www.consumer.org.hk/ws_en/news/press/528/sunscreen-test.htmlI can't seem to find the list of products tested and the results! But looking at some other articles it appears mainly Japanese and European (Fancl, Estée Lauder, iPSA, Anessa, Shiseido, Curél, Sofina, Laneige, Dermacept, Bio-Essence).Source: https://sg.news.yahoo.com/industry-backlash-against-hong-kong-055209520.htmlThe testing recorded the efficacy of Fancl’s Sunguard 50+ Protect UV sunscreen as SPF 14.3 and PA++, but reports from the United States and China, which both tested on human skin, reported an SPF of above 50 and PA++++Fancl disputed it and said the watchdog had used an outdated and one-sided methodology to examine their product. Fancl tested in vivo. The Consumer Council outsourced the checks to laboratory company Eurofins in Australia which tested the PA factor in vitro rather than on human skin.Anyway not sure if someone else has more info on this. There is a video on the Cunsomer Watchdog website but it is in Chinese I think, and I can see Biore, LRP, Bioderma, Skin Aqua, Kose etc on the video but can't tell if they also failed the test or what. Hopefully someone can chime in? But looks like the issue is the methodology used by watchdog (outdated?) vs companies (human skin so in line with updated guidance in 2019)
