I have sensitive and oily skin living in a very humid country in Asia. Female and in my late 20s. Had the privilege of travelling to the US a couple of times for work over the past few years and I've been hitting up Sephora every chance I get (fellow SE Asians will understand lol).Like many of you, I have been lured into the buying the minis and have given in to the sales pitch of their sales staff. So, I thought I'd share some of the hyped products I've tried (not all are from Sephora) and give my experience for these products.belif True Cream Aqua BombI first purchased the mini version which came with the Hungarian Water Essence 2 years ago and I loved it then. I thought it was my HG at the time and ended up repurchasing the giant tub. I loved the cooling feeling which is a huge plus for me since I live in a perpetual "Summer" season country. After using it consistently for weeks, I realized it was kind of drying up my skin. I would still get very oily, which means my skin wasn't able to get the right amount of moisture, hence my oil glands leaking like there's no tomorrow. After looking up the ingredients, I realized in contained Denatured Alcohol pretty high up on the list. While this isn't a big deal for people with oily skin, I guess it just didn't work out for me.belif Hungarian Water Essence (not pictured)Damn I loved this one. Probably one of the best hydrating serum/essences I've tried. I haven't repurchased this one since I have tons of hyaluronic acid products on my shelf but this is some next level super water shit. It's lightweight but packs on the moisture and it feels like a splash of spa water. It's on the pricey side but it works pretty good for people with oily combo skin. Not too heavy and no scent at all.Youth To The People Superfood CleanserOne of the BEST cleansers ever. Periodt. This tiny bottle saved me on long haul flights (which I kind of miss now). I felt like it was my small piece of luxury back in economy class. Cleanses nicely and not stripping at all. I love the fresh salad smell too. It's a clean beauty product that is a bit on the pricey side but totally worth it. Ended up getting the big version in the local black market where resellers jack up the prices. Again, still worth it.Herbivore Botanicals Bakuchiol SerumI had my qualms with starting Retinol so I thought I'd ease in with Bakuchiol. Heard good things about this product so I gave it a try. Let me tell you, I did not see any difference. I mean, I didn't hate it and used it for the sake of trying to preserving youthful skin but I didn't see any results (also it's $54 so bitch imma use it until the last drop) Maybe it's just a fluke for me, but I did love the hydration it brought on my skin. I can't say it's not worth it, I have read several good reviews so maybe it just did not jive with my skin.Nuxe Huile ProdigeuseI don't see this product enough on Reddit so I thought I'd share a short review. I've used this for the past few months and it has been such a delight. I'm obsessed with it. Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse is a dry oil so it's not greasy at all and a little goes a long way. It works well on the face, body, and hair and it smells DIVINE. It's a subtle sexy scent that I cannot get enough of. For a dry oil, it is very hydrating. I love using this after showering, it feels like such a luxury to lather on my damp skin. I have tried other dry oils and nothing compares to Nuxe. I'd repurchase this for sure.Banila Co. Clean It ZeroI actually have tried this before but I was able to score a mini version which was such a treat to use for travel. This is one of the best cleansing balms I've tried and it's a hardworking little guy that gets out all the grime, oil, makeup, and sweat from a long day. Personally prefer oil cleansers over balms but this is one of the best out there that I have tried.Any good products you guys have tried? Looking for a good eye cream, if anyone has any suggestions!
