[product question] how important is niacinamide in moisturizers?

Right now I’m on tretinoin and have been using cerave moisturizing cream to help with dryness and irritation, which has been working just fine, and I’m wondering if it’s worth switching to cerave pm bc it has niacinamide in it which I’ve heard is really good.Is it worth switching even though my current routine is working fine?
