[routine help] Skin barrier damage, where to go from here?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi. Basically, I was prescribed a topical antibiotic that included benzoyl peroxide in it, and tretinoin .025. I have been on these for a month and saw no significant sensitivity/damage. This week, I woke up and washed my face, used my antibiotic, then put on my moisturizer. As soon as I put on my moisturizer my face turned immediately tomato red, burned like hell, and was just horrible. I couldnt even put on my sunscreen in fear of it becoming more irritated. The entire day I sat with an ice pack on my face, yet it didn't get better. From research and what people have told me, I have barrier damage. Since my post in another skincare sub, I have stopped using tret and my antibiotic. I have been unable to reach my derm so I dont know what to do. The burning and sensitivity have subsided since I stopped using my tret and antibiotic.Right now, my routine consists of:Cerave foaming cleanserneurogena oil free sensitive moisturizerneutrogena dry touch sunscreenI really want to go back onto my antibiotic and tret as soon as possible as it was helping my acne so much. But, I want to fix my barrier first. I tried slugging with vaseline, but it caused more breakouts!! I CANNOT buy new products right now due to money, so I have to fix my barrier with the products I already have. Should I go back to slugging? How do I know that its a good time to return to my medication? And if I do, what should I do? My derm said to use the antibiotic every morning, and tret every other night. How would I reduce the timing of these so it doesnt damage me again? Should I buffer my tret with moisturizer? Please help!!
