I leave it on for 2:00 minutes, then wash it off.Throughout the day, I put on glossier balm dotcom or Jack Black lip balm on my lips.If I shower in the middle of the day, I'll use CeraVe AM facial moisturizer to tide my face over with hydration and SPF until the nighttime.Reviews (from left to right):Vanicream Gentle Cleanser: (10/10 WRP/HG)I love this stuff. It cleans without stripping or leaving me feeling dry. It's simple, cheap, and does exactly what I need it to do. I've tried a variety of cleansers, including several CeraVe, Cetaphil, and some samples of Glossier and Drunk Elephant, and this one is my favorite. It's creamy and doesn't really foam but feels pleasant and silky when I'm using it. I've been using this for about a year.Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment (4/10, WNRP)I'm not totally sold on this. It's an early foray into adding acids to my routine, and I bought a small size to try it out. It feels very luxurious and does make my skin feel really even and smooth, and does seem to be helping with sebaceous filaments on my nose. But, it also makes my skin quite red, so I think it may be too strong for me, and it seems to be causing the occasional pimple, but that also may be purging. I don't think I'd get it again, given the price point, and will probably try some other AHA, maybe the Pixi Glow Tonic. I've been using this for about a month.Clindamycin (8/10, WNRP).This is a perscription topical antibiotic I got from my derm. I got it several years ago, and it's lasted a long time. It does seem to help make pimples go away faster, but I mostly used it when I first started tretinoin and had a lot more acne. I just use it occasionally now, and probably won't seek a refill once this runs out. I've been using this for about three years.Tretinoin 0.1% (10/10, WRP/HG)Like a lot of people, this is the product that's made the biggest overall difference for my skin. It's gotten rid of my persistent hormonal acne, gotten rid of fine lines I was forming, and generally made my skin better. I started at 0.05% but moved up to 0.1% about a year and a half ago. My skin tolerates this well, and though I have to pay attention to hydration, I don't flake or anything from dry skin.Skinceuticals CE Ferulic (10/10, WRP/HG)I feel horribly bougie spending so much on such a tiny bottle. But damn, does this stuff work. I quit it for a couple of months this fall when my last bottle ran out and wow did I notice a difference. It has faded my acne scars (I tend to scar easily), evened my skin texture, and generally given my skin a lovely "glowing-from-the-inside" look. The bottle is small, but it lasts me about a year. I've been using this for about a year and a half. (Also, before anyone says not to store this on a windowsill--this window look out under a deck; there is no light from this window.)Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (10/10/ WRP/HG)I love this stuff. It's slimy, but I don't mind that. It's super hydrating, makes my skin look plump and soft, dries down nicely, and layers well under my moisturizer. It also helps even my skin tone. When I ran out and was waiting for the next bottle, I definitely noticed that my skin missed it. I've been using this for about year.Hada Labo Hydrating Premium Lotion (8/10, MRP)This is my second bottle (it's blank in the photo because the label came off when I was removing the wrapping the first time i opened it, oddly). It's a nice extra layer of hydration, but nothing super special. I'd be interested in trying other hydrating toners as alternatives. But it's not super expensive and is pretty hydrating. I've been using this for about a year.CeraVe PM facial moisturizer (10/10, WRP/HG)I love this lotion. It's light but hydrating, I like that it has niacinamide, and doesn't pill. It's also easy to find and pretty cheap. I've been using this for about a year and a half. I've tried a bunch of the CeraVe lotions and this is by far my favorite. I've thought about trying other ones, like the Vanicream lotion, but honestly this one is so good, why fix what isn't broken?CeraVe AM facial moisturizer (4/10, MRP)This stuff is fine. It's not high enough SPF to replace sunscreen, and leaves a bit of a white cast (even on me, and I'm very pale). I've used it off an on for about a year. It pills much more than the CeraVe PM and takes a long time to rub in. That said, it's one of the higher SPF/moisturizer combos I've found, so it's okay in a pinch after an afternoon shower. I might buy it again unless I find some alternative SPF/moisturizer combo.Elta UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 (8/10, WRP)This is almost HG status, but it is just slightly too shiny for me once it dries. But it goes on really elegantly, doesn't smell like sunscreen, doesn't pill, and (most importantly) doesn't break me out. It's also low in alcohol compared to a lot of sunscreens, which is good because I find alcohol drying. It works well enough that I'm hesitant to try other things. I'll repurchase it, but I'm also keeping my eyes open for alternatives. I've been using this for about two years.Glossier Balm Dotcom (9/10, WRP)I like this stuff a lot. It's stupidly overpriced for what it is, but it feels like a fun indulgence, I love the lip tint (fig is my favorite), and is very hydrating and smells nice. The only bad part is that it doesn't have SPF. I've been using this for about 10 months.[Not pictured] Jack Black Lip Balm (9/10, WRP)I ran out of this, so it's not pictured, but it's basically the inverse of the Glossier lip balm. It's SPF 35, smells/ tastes great... but isn't tinted. I wish they made a tinted! I've been using this for about 10 months.[Bonus] R+Co High Dive Moisture Shine Creme (10/10, WRP)Okay, so this is hair care, but it's such a pretty bottle and part of my routine. It's great, it leaves my hair soft and shiny, helps me fight frizz, and it smells incredible.Other things that have helped:I try to drink a lot of water. In the past, when I've done "Dry January" or gone sugar free for a couple of weeks, that's helped... but I like booze and sugar, so that's not a long-term solution for me. I still want to live my life! And I try not to touch my face too much, though I admit I give into temptation more than I'd like. Lastly, exercise! I really do think it helps my skin glow (and is just generally good for me). What I think I might be missingI don't have an eye cream, though I've toyed with the idea of adding one at various points, but my major eye concern is that I have dark undereye circles and that, tragically, seems to be genetic so a cream is kinda pointless. As I mentioned above, I'm also going to probably try new AHAs once I finish the ExfoliKate.
