Beauty Tips For Body Care
i just found out the sunscreen i’ve been using religiously for past 5 years has no UVA protection in it, and i’m upset to say the least. mostly at myself for assuming a good sunscreen brand would have both UVA and UVB protection (la roche posay) but also at how hard it is to see what UVA protection our sunscreens have in the US.i’m sure i have been making my melasma worse (it never seems to get better) and what is funny is that i switched to mineral sunscreen because of it. i just turned 40 so i’m not happy about how i thought i was helping filter UVAging rays but i was literally doing nothing. i wear a hat outside when i’m out for a while but still.i’m going to finish up the bottles i have by using colourscience sunforgettable powder sunscreen on top-i’m working from home so at least i won’t be out in the sun as much as pre-pandemic levels.the sunscreen in question is la roche posay anthelios mineral tinted sunscreen spf 50. i assumed that because it was tinted, it was masking the zinc oxide. nope! they have a non tinted one that has both. i have used it before and it does give a white cast.i’m going to try the elta md uv elements spf 44. just ordered it and it apparently plays well with makeup!i have to thank angie from hot and flashy for all this info. i thought i was savvy but i had literally no idea. i looked the LRP sunscreen years ago to see how well it did with UVA but it must have been the non tinted one because it was decent/good. not the one i was using!tldr: LRP mineral tinted sunscreen spf 50 has only UVB filters, check all ingredients when choosing a sunscreen. people are probably better about it now than 5 years ago but I hope i can help someone!
