[Review] My experience with Flat Facial Moles Removal (ablative laser treatment)

Beauty Tips For Body Care
This is technically a review of my experience doing ablative laser for mole removal, which happens to include before and after pictures - let me know if this violates the B&A fridays rule.Before1 Before 2Afterwearing foundation)(no foundation)(moles circled)Last year when I was looking through internet reviews of facial mole removal, I noticed that there aren't too many reviews of people who have had flat, dark facial moles removed- the majority of people who get them removed have raised wart-like growths that are frozen or sliced/excised off. The removal of flat, dark, surface moles (junctional nevus) is a more delicate process. So I figured I'd share my experience of getting my flat facial moles removed via ablative plasma laser. As you can see in the before photo I wanted to remove 5 moles that were all on the left side of my face - they threw off my facial symmetry, were really dark and impossible to cover with makeup, and had been there since I was a toddler. I already checked with my derm that these weren't cancerous. In Jan 2021, I went to cosmetic clinic (run by Korean cosmetic nurses) to get them removed via ablative laser, aka plasma laser. It’s essentially a machine that emits a tiny heated spark in order to instantly vaporize parts of your skin, but in incredibly controlled and small sections. The entire procedure took about half an hour and I was sent home with these black spots on my face. The black spots aren’t the actual mole but the leftover carbon where the mole used to be – it comes off within the next 2-3 days and youre left with a red spot.It takes 2 months for the spot and the scar to completely heal, and it should be noted that with flat mole removal, its nearly impossible to remove the mole 100%. In my case I was left with faint, freckle-like marks which are undetectable once I'm wearing foundation. Overall I'm fairly happy - the moles are much less obvious on my face, and it makes my skin overall look much more clear and even. Some notes:Over-use of laser ablation on flat moles could lead to the creation of an indent.Ablative laser should only be used on individuals who aren't prone to keloid scarringYou should be more diligent with applying sunscreen and avoiding UV exposure after the procedureJunctional nevi have a tendency to grow back over time sometimes, so this procedure may have to be repeated in the future
