Beauty Tips For Body Care
I know how every skin is different, so of course YMMV. I do however want to drop by and bring to light 2 moisturizers I have been using that have proven themselves to be consistently effective in what they were meant to do ( lock in moisture and protect the skin) so it may help someone somewhere someday. My skinAge: 24Skin type: Combination (oily T zone, dry cheeks)Acne: Not prone to acne unless PMSing, I get a few pimples underneath the skin during my periodEthnicity: East AsianRoutine: I use a mild retinol daily (Cerave Resurfacing Serum- another HG, and SPF daily)1) La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm: I use this as an occlusive mostly. I began with it as spot treatment for any dry patches or irritated/ sunburned/ sensitive areas as it is marketed as a balm for healing. One night, I ran out of moisturizer and used this instead as an all over treatment. The next morning, I could tell the my skin felt more elastic and hydrated.Since then, I have discovered that it is not much of a moisturizer as a really nice occlusive. I would place Hada Labo moisturizing toners underneath and then apply a thin layer of the balm on top to the entire face. It leaves a white cast, but as I use it exclusively in the PM, it does not bother me. It is very very thick and quite heavy so you need just a pea sized dot to cover the entire face and it does extend that far.I love this balm because it's pretty good for all over healing and if you like thick creams as I do, it feels moisturizing. It is also powerful in helping me achieve the most moisturized skin of my life. I find base makeup applies so much better.Cons: some people breakout with cicaplast, leaves white cast2) Eucerin daily hydration lotion: Simple, non-fragranced, and highly effective. Not to mention it is pretty cheap compared to other similar lotions. I noticed an immediate difference starting to use it compared to Cerave body products, or St. Ives which are the bottles that I personally have tried before. I have KP, and I found the acid based products such as KP duty or Cerave SA cream all tend to be ineffective and causes more redness on me. Those creams tend to be very thick but not hydrating at all and you are left with skin that feels like only the topmost layers are being treated. My KP has gotten significantly softer with the application of Eucerin. My guess is that it does a better job of softening the skin and making feel more hydrated. I keep the KP duty and Cerave SA for days when I need a bit ore treatment, but Eucerin does a great job keeping my body feeling smooth and soft on the daily.Next steps: I want to try to use it as a facial moisturizer. Any suggestions about that?
