[Miscellaneous] Cassandra's still harping on about succinic acid...

Beauty Tips For Body Care
In her latest video, Cassandra Bankson talks about the 5 worst acne habits and what she wishes she had known in her younger years. In a portion about helpful ingredients (at 7:09) she mentions all the tried and true acne fighters, like retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur, as well as other ingredients that can help due to their antimicrobial, antibacterial or exfoliating action, like tea tree, glycolic acid, lactic acid, and... succinic acid (8:23). "You know I love it from The Inkey List" -- this is the only time in the entire video she actually mentions a brand by name, btw.I wanted to make this post as a reminder to never absorb all your information from skincare gurus on Youtube, even the ones that seem educational and fact-based, because they all have contracts and sponsorships with specific brands and their main goal is to sell you those brands' products. The succinic acid spot treatment from TIL seems to be a very good product from what I've been reading, but it's not because of the miracle new ingredient that is succinic acid -- it's because of salicylic acid and sulfur, two ingredients that are extremely common in most spot treatments. It annoys me and disappoints me when people looking for factual and scientific information are mislead by influencers and companies that brand themselves as educational but spread misinformation instead.(ETA link.)
