Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi everyone,I was wondering if it's ok for me to start using retinol for my acne even though I'm only 17. I've tried benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, but nothing has been that effective. But I was worried that using a product such as differin (which contains retinol) could potentially make my skin age faster when I'm older. I read this article: https://theskincareedit.com/2019/01/31/salicylic-glycolic-acid-thin-skinThe main point I got from this is about the Hayflick Limit of cell division. Basically our cells have a limit to how many times they can divide, and using a product like retinol or aha at a younger age could mean that when you get older your cells can no longer divide at all, leading to severe sagging and aging of the skin (the article explains it better). I don't know if this is true or not, I've tried to do some research but have found now answers. I know that this article is about aha and bha, however retinol works in a similar way, stimulating new cell growth. Is this true? Or is the article wrong? It's made me worried about using aha and bha, let alone retinol. It's annoying because my main issue is blackheads, and those 3 things are best at getting rid of them :')Anyway, let me know if this is true or not because it's made me worried. I just don't want to do any permanent damage to my skin!
