[Product Question] Is there a difference between normal body wash and exfoliating body wash?

I’ve been trying to get more into body care as a male and this is one of the biggest questions for me. If there is a difference between the two is it okay to use regular body wash that isn’t an exfoliant as an exfoliater? And are there any good brands anyone recommends? Mostly for getting rid of bumps, and evening out skin color etc.
