[miscellaneous] Less is more, I simplified my routine and now my skin has improved.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
What are some of your experiences with overdoing skincare, share in the comments.I never had issues with acne or my skin in general. I had the occasional breakout that would come and go, but other than that I had no huge issues. I’ve been into skincare for about a year now, before that I would only wash with just soap and water. If I was really tired sometimes I would only use a baby wipe before bed (horrible I know), but again I never had issues with my skin so I didn’t focus too heavily on it. I got into skincare and anti-aging when I turned 29. I started researching and bought all the skin care products. Lactic acids, Retinol, AHA’s/BHA’s. I never used them together or all at once but would alternate between products on certain days. After some time I noticed that my skin started to react adversely. My skin become more oily than usual, my pores seemed larger, and I started to develop sebum plugs that were extremely difficult to get rid of and caused scaring and hyperpigmentation that I’m still trying to get rid of. I had redness and irritation. Something that I thought was helping me was doing the opposite. Consequently, I ruined my perfect skin by overcorrecting. Right now I’m detoxing. I’m not using any AHA/BHA’s. My skincare routine consists of sunscreen, hyaluronic acid cleanser and a moisturizer that’s it. I’m giving my skin a break and I’m already noticing a huge difference. My pores are smaller, my skin is less oily, and I no longer suffer from sebum plugs. So basically I write all of this to say that less is more. Don’t overdo it with the anti-aging or skincare in general. Don’t buy skincare products just because they are popular and expensive, they may work for some but doesn’t mean they will work for you, and just because they are expensive doesn’t mean they are good. Learn what your skin responds best to. Second, test run products before fully incorporating them into your routine and lastly, don’t keep using products if you’re responding badly to them.
