Beauty Tips For Body Care
Can you still work a public speaking oriented job if you have acne?I really enjoy outreach work, especially university extension work. In these jobs, you work mostly with the public and have to do many presentations and small discussions with people to disseminate information. I am noticing that my hormonal acne is starting to get worse and I am going to see my doctor about that , but don't have an appointment until mid January. While I don't work those types of jobs yet, I have some presentations coming up where I will be essentially doing what extension educators do (I'll be giving a presentation to a large group). I am curious what people think when they see someone with acne speaking? Do they have less credibility? Do they subconsciously listen less because they are focused on my skin? Do you think my supervisor is going to ask me to not give the presentation due to my skin? it seems to be pretty known that pretty privilege exists and maybe extension educators need to be "pretty".Would you let your acne stop you from giving this presentation? I am stuck. I really want to present and practice my speaking skills but my acne has gotten worse and I feel self-conscious. I think I am going to do the presentation no matter what. I am just curious if my supervisor wouldn't want me to do it because of my skin problems?thank you for your insight :)
