[Sun Care] For the love of all that is holy will I ever a find my HG sunscreen???

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Long time lurker first time poster – please excuse any faux-pasI am losing my goddamn mind trying to find a sunscreen I can wear for consistent, daily protection for my face. Long story short, I have very acne-prone, usually oily (but can be oily/dehydrated if using the wrong products), fair skin. I have persistent, hormonal and superficial acne that I am currently starting to get a bit of control over with 2x/day 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and 6 weeks into a 12 week course of minocycline. I could go on for ages about my complete acne history but I don’t want to put ppl to sleep.I feel like I’ve run the gamut with every sunscreen I can think of that would suit my needs/skin, but I’m still coming up empty handed. Chemical, physical, oil-free, oil-full, organic, cheap, expensive as fuck, nothing is working!!! I’ve experimented with many treatments over the years (acids, retinoids etc.) which make it especially important that I regularly use a good sunscreen. Here’s little run down of the brands I’ve tried in no particular order – please note the majority of these were purchased in Canada, where I live.Green Beaver Natural Mineral Sunscreen Cream SPF 30 – Very thick and pasty. Badger Chamomile Baby Sunscreen Cream SPF 30 – Thick and pasty Matter Company Substance Unscented Natural Sun Care Crème SPF 30 – you guessed it: thick and pasty La Roche Posay Anthelios Mineral Tinted Ultra Fluid Lotion SPF 50 – Not bad texture-wise but makes me break out, of course. La Roche Posay Anthelios Lightweight Lotion SPF 30 – a bit greasy, terrified it will break me out. La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt-In Cream SPF 60 – waaay to greasy for face – trying to put makeup on is like trying to rub butter onto a frosted cake. Paula’s Choice Hydralight Shine Free Daily Mineral Complex SPF 30 – a bit drying, expensive and you don’t get much product. Complete All Day Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 - Sensitive– ok upon application but as soon as my face encountered the sun my skin burned. Olay Complete Sensitive Skin SPF 15 – currently burning my face. This was my ‘ok I give up I’ll just get a nothing SPF at least it will be gentle’ fml. Coppertone Clearly Sheer Faces SPF 30 – burned mah face. Coppertone Sensitive Skin Face SPF 50 – thick, pasty, white cast. Avene High protection emulsion SPF 40 – drying/patchy under makeup Avene High protection lotion SPF 40 - patchy under makeup but better than the emulsion ( you also get more product for basically the same price) Cyberderm Every Morning Sun Whip SPF 25– the problem is I don’t trust it. Makes no mention of broad spectrum protection on the product or the website. Also expensive. CeraVe A.M. – drying/patchy under makeup CeraVe Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50 (purchased in the U.S.) – patchy and very drying. This is not a complete list of all the products I’ve tried, just the ones that I currently have. From the above-mentioned, the only ones I consider usable are the Avene Lotion and the Cyberderm (does it work though???aaah!)It seems chemical sunscreens irritate my face and can cause a burning sensation, but the Zinc/physical based sunscreens are drying and make makeup application impossible. I understand that some of the problems with these sunscreens could be avoided if I chose not to wear makeup at all, but I still have pretty bad acne and hyperpigmentation, and it’s just not an option for me to go to work in a professional environment with my bare face the way it is. I’m really working towards fixing my face but the elusive dream of clear skin is still a ways away. Until then, I need something that won’t burn my skin, but doesn’t look horrendous under makeup.I’ve hesitated on two popular options I’ve seen endless posts about: Elta MD sunscreens and Asian sunscreens. The former because it is not readily available in Canada and buying it online is super expensive, seeing as the product itself is almost $50 PLUS astronomical shipping/duties etc. And the latter for several reasons. The first being the alcohol content, the second being the chemical sunscreens they use and the third being the size. I’m not terrified of putting alcohol on my face, but I do try to avoid it, especially now seeing as I’m already using drying, oxidizing BP. I just feel adding a daily dose of alcohol might not help my skin heal. The chemical sunscreens aren’t a total put off, especially as a lot of them use the better, European ingredients like Tinosorb and Mexoryl. And the size is an issue for monetary concerns really, not to mention that I would be taking a big risk ordering a bunch of teeny bottles to try that may just end up in the ‘use up on my body/hands’ pile (which is already enormous – I will have the nicest hands at the retirement home). I’d much prefer to find something that’s readily available to me that can be easily replaced without having to go online, but at this point, I’m open to anything that will just fucking work.Should I just suck it up and order the Elta?? I’ve heard the UV Clear pills under makeup so the UV Shield or Lotion might be better? Should I just throw caution to the wind and order all the Asian sunscreens and hope one is my magical sunscreen unicorn?? Is there some stupid obvious DS sunscreen that secretly works amazingly and costs like 10 bucks??? Help me oh wise ones :(TL;DR – All sunscreens in stores suck. Haven’t tried Elta or Asian sunscreens. Have stubborn as fuck acne, will trade soul for clear skin.
