Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I've been religiously wearing sunscreen for the best part of the last two years and when I start a routine I always go to the extreme. I want the best protection possible. However, during my journey and ~40 different sunscreens later I still have more questions than answers. Either the information is conflicting or its simply not there. If I step outside and my face gets a little sweaty and I wipe it as I walk to my air conditioned car does that mean my sunscreen is now only effective for 80 more minutes? Since I wiped has it stopped working? Or does it mean it can handle 80 minutes of non-stop sweating? I didn't wipe it off I just kind of rubbed it back in hoping I'm not losing protection.Does avobenzone combined with other actives offer UVA1 & UVA2 protection? Or does oxybenzone need to be included for UVA2 protection? I read conflicting literature that says Avobenzone combined with other actives protects against both types of UVA but then on skincancer.org it says avobenzone only protects against UVA1 and oxybenzone protects against UVA2.When I apply a chemical sunscreen and wait 15-30 minutes for it to absorb I still find that bluish hue stain on everything I touch. Does that mean that the sunscreen is rubbing off? I thought that only happens with physical sunscreens.I called Neutrogena and asked about their Ultra Sheer line's UVA protection. They told me that no matter what the SPF, they all offer the same UVA protection despite reports on /r/skincareaddiction and other websites saying that the SPF 30 has a much lower UVA international rating compared to the SPF 100 (I believe it has a higher PPD). Well it makes sense it would have better UVA protection because the higher SPFs in the Ultra Sheer line have a higher concentration of UVA ingredients. If a sunscreen has a higher concentration of avobenzone and oxybenzone doesn't that mean it should offer better UVA protection?I hope we can find answers rooted in scientific evidence as these have been on my mind for quite some time and there's a lot of conflicting information out there.
