Beauty Tips For Body Care
First of- I'm not sure if scalp-related issues are allowed on this sub, so apologies in advanced if they're not! And if not, could someone please point me to the right sub? Thanks!About 2 months ago I was running my fingers through my hair, and noticed that parts of my scalp felt... elevated, pointy almost. I started picking at the pieces, it was so strange but I had an urge to do so. Anyways... 2 months later and it's still there. All over my scalp, just whiteish, dry patches of what I think is skin, but if I run my fingers up on my scalp, it feels pointy and raised. When I pull out the pieces (which I am aware that I should not be doing this and have stopped doing so, tremendously!!!), not only does the skin come off, but also hair at the follicles. Hair from the follicles is attached to these pieces of patchy skin.I've googled images of psoriasis, eczema, dandruff, and other well-known skin/scalp conditions but nothing matches what I have. I'll try to take a picture, it's just that I haven't pulled out the patches recently and really want to keep from doing so, and I can't take a good picture of my own scalp (and I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone I know to take a picture of my scalp...).I should add- I wash my hair every 2-3 days. My hair is nor greasy nor dry. I've actually received compliments on my hair my entire life, and I've never really had issues with my skin either. I don't color my hair, and rarely use hair products (a little jojoba oil sometimes in the ends). I started using a dandruff shampoo 2 weeks ago, but haven't seen a change.Any ideas?Tl;dr: I have whiteish, patchy pieces of hair that I can feel when I run my fingers through my scalp. If I pull them out, hair comes off with it and with the follicle intact. Help? It's starting to become a big issue, as I'm becoming self conscious even around my boyfriend.Thank you all!!
