Beauty Tips For Body Care
Sorry if this is long, i'm going to be very descriptive for clarity. I'm really hoping someone knows what I am talking about and can offer advice. For years I thought that I had regular acne pimples, but i've finally figured out that what is on my face is an extension of the annoying skin condition that has effected my body since my teens: keratosis pillars. I have bad KP on my arms, and I have it mildly on my back, butt, chest, and sometimes legs. The 'pimples' on my face are definitely a result of too much keratin production clogging up my hair follicles. Sometimes I get small bumps like the ones on my arms that dry out after a bit (I can literally scrape them off with my nail and pull out the ball of hardened keratin with no ill effects to my skin). But other times they manifest as more inflamed whiteheads. Sometimes simply closed comedone looking things sitting under the surface.I get a lot of these around my mustache area (I am a man). I would never dare to grow a mustache because the hairs there are so keratin-laden that many of them grow out straight up dead (like a clear color). Sometimes I will go to pluck a hair out and it will literally fall out with the slightest touch. If I rub anywhere on my face with my finger I will gather up a ball of keratin. If I gently stretch parts of my face I can see it oozing out of every single pore (similar to the sebum on your nose), to the point where I can pull it out with tweezers without even touching my skin.My routine is very natural and goes as follows:Morning: splash of cold water or nothing at allEvening: Every other day- Alba Botanical Even Advanced face scrub Manuka honey mask (30 minutes) Coconut oil for moisturizerThe days in between- Manuka honey as a face wash Apple cider vinegar (mixed with equal parts water) applied on cotton balls and gently rubbed on face Coconut oil as moisturizerAnd thats it. I thought the apple cider vinegar would help to dissolve the keratin but it doesn't seem to be doing that. I feel like my face needs two things:Serious daily exfoliation to remove keratin build-up. I'm not sure if I should go with something physical like my face scrub or a clarisonic face brush, or some kind of chemical exfoliant. Some kind of cream that I can apply that will dissolve any excess left over keratin and prevent hair follicles from becoming trapped. Would this be a BHA, an AHA, or something entirely different?I am willing to drop unlimited amounts of money to fix this problem. It is embarrassing and frustrating especially since otherwise I am an extremely healthy person. I eat well, I drink lots of water, I run or take a yoga class almost every day of the week, I meditate and read spiritual books. It frustrates me to no end when I see people smoking cigs and eating mcdonalds with completely clear skin. All advice is appreciated. Thanks!
