[Acne] Curiously enough, I've neglected my routine for a few days this week and have seen my closed comedones go down pretty far... does anyone else find that letting skin "rest" helps with acne?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Sometimes I'm really good at following my routine day and night, and then sometimes I have a few days of laziness. This week I neglected my skin for three or four days in a row, and was surprised to find that my usually-prominent closed comedones have shrunken quite a bit! I'm wondering if it's because I'm letting my skin have more than 12 hours to repair and react to my acne treatments.Do you have any experience for letting your skin "rest" for more than a day after acne treatments? Or if you're aware of studies/dermatologists or estheticians' advice that recommends it?For reference, here is my routine:AMGarnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water on 1-2 cotton pads all over the face(sometimes, because I'm running out of it) Mary Kay Replenishing Serum+CCetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer with SPF 30—which I'm just using to get rid of because it's pretty much just sunscreenPMClinique Sonic Cleansing Brush with the extra-gentle brush head, unless I feel like using my hands to cleanse now and thenNeutrogena Hydro Boost gel cleanser, OR Image Clear Cell gel cleanser with 2% SA every 3 daysWitch hazel to toneThen one of the following acne treatments, which I cycle through every 3-4 days:Neutrogena RapidClear 2.5% BP leave-on "mask"Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Mask, which has 10% sulfur; I leave it on for 10-15 mins and then rinse off (on these days I apply witch hazel after this step)The Clear Cell cleanser mentioned aboveSometimes as an extra day in the rotation I add a couple drops of tea tree oil to my witch hazel cotton padFinish with Hymed Reconstructive Creme to moisturize
