I started a 'lifestyle change' around 5 months ago to finally drop the extra weight I had gained in college. I didn't do anything drastic; just started counting calories but I'm short and have a fairly low calorie allowance. So that meant pretty much no more dessert if I wanted to eat anything else for the rest of the day.Something strange started happening almost right away. I noticed I was breaking out less. I thought I was just having a good week. Then a month went by, still no big pimples! Then 2, then 3 months and still nothing significant. What was this magic? What was happening to me? The only thing I had changed was my diet.Crap. I never wanted to believe sugar could be causing my acne cuz I love sweets, but alas, I ate like crap over the holidays and whatdya know, CYSTIC ACNE my old friend has returned.So TL; DR: acne got better when I went on a diet and stopped eating sweets.
