[Personal] My night time skin routine has become my favourite part of my day.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I came to skin care fairly late in my 20s and the difference in my skin from 20yo to 30yo is like night and day. I've always had heavily acne prone skin and a t zone that constantly seemed to be swamped in oil, both of which used to make me feel very self conscious. I also developed fairly large pores inherited from my father. It took me a long time of trying products which didn't work, and which were actually terrible for my skin, until I found this sub and started trying to develope a routine that worked for my skin type. I spent a long time researching products I had never heard of and whose names sometimes scared me (acid! On my skin?!). It's taken time, and I still get breakouts, but I'm happier than ever with my skin.My night time routine has become such an important and soothing part of my day. I always set aside 20-30 minutes, make myself a chamomile tea and put on Netflix or YouTube. I take it slow, let every product sit for a few minutes before applying the next one. It's my time, it's that small part of my day that I can always count on having, doing something nice for myself, something good for me. When I clear away the impurities from my pores, I'm clearing away the impurities of my day. When I encourage my skin to produce all the good things it needs, I'm encouraging the confidence my good skin has brought me. I savour those 30 minutes as much as I can and enjoy each and every one of them. I've heard it labelled as high maintenance by friends, but I wouldn't have it any other way.Thank you, r/skincareaddiction, I wouldn't have this without you.
