Beauty Tips For Body Care
I was a former user of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. I really liked how bouncy it made my skin, plus I think it helped my skin heal more quickly. But at $41 for 20 oz, I couldn't really justify the price. So I did a little research, come to find out all those fancy collagen powders are basically the exact same thing as plain old jello. Gelatin itself is just collagen that has been cooked down and turned into a powder. The expensive powders are just gelatin that has been through an additional process to break it down into smaller molecules which can dissolve in cold drinks. Some claim that the smaller molecules have better bioavailability, but the fact is it all gets digested into the exact same amino acids once it's in our body.I did a quick search on Amazon and found that Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides cost $2.04 an ounce, while unflavored Knox Gelatin is only $0.73 an ounce! That's nearly 3x cheaper! Considering the $0.73 is probably an Amazon markup, it's probably even cheaper if you buy it at the grocery store.I've personally been drinking hot water with 2 teaspoons of Jello I had kicking in the back of my pantry dissolved in it. 1) it's not as gross as it sounds, it's sort of like really fruity tea? and 2) I've seen just as good results as I had with VP, with the added benefit that I can continue to use this product without going broke. Thought I'd pass this along to anyone wondering if a fancy collagen powder is worth the price; it's not! Go to the store and buy some gelatin!source: https://paleoleap.com/all-about-gelatin-and-collagen/
