Beauty Tips For Body Care
I am 27, have struggled with severe chronic acne on and off since I was 13. When I say I've tried everything, I really mean it. I know everything there is to know about acne and skincare, I read all the scientific literature on the subject, I am aware of every ingredient I put on my face, it is on my mind all the time. I am currently on my 3rd course of accutane.Whenever I talk about my skin, I get the exact same advice.wash your pillowcase!clean your phone!dont touch your face!drink more water! cut out dairy! try spearmint tea!try xyz over the counter product (looking at you cerave)etc etc etc foreverI know people are just trying to be helpful, but it hurts. Acne already has a stigma attached to it as some type of moral failure, it's seen as dirty and gross. So when I constantly hear about all the things I should be doing differently, it just reinforces the idea in my head that I am personally responsible for this mess and it's my own fault and I am failing at life. The reality is, I could change my pillowcase every hour and it wouldn't make a difference. My type of acne is a disease, a medical condition, and it needs medical treatment. Someone with newly developed acne or someone just getting into skincare, this information is probably helpful for them. Someone who has been dealing with this for the majority of their life? Not helpful.Anyways, as I said, I know people are just trying to be helpful. But before you post, please consider what you are saying and who you are saying it to!
