Beauty Tips For Body Care
TLDR: Stridex (Blistex, Inc) confirmed formula change on 11/6/19.I recently repurchased Stridex in the red box and noticed big changes. First, the container was unusually heavy with extra liquid. Upon application, my face was covered with suds, comparable to washing with a foaming cleanser. Initially, I was freaked out since previous boxes did not produce suds. I continued to use the pads for three nights, and I had no negative effects. The only change I noticed was my skin feels slightly more dry than usual after using the pads. Although, I was still concerned about a possible formula change (what if they added alcohol as in ingredient ?!). So today I sent an inquiry to Stridex Customer Support. They responded by email within a few hours with the following response:"Thank you for contacting us about your experience with the Stridex Maximum Strength pads you recently purchased. We at Blistex Inc. take great pride in the products and services we provide. It is through feedback from consumers such as yourself that we are able to improve our products and services. In response to your comment about the liquid having excessive suds, we did make a slight change to the formula. We did everything possible in development to deliver an identical experience, but as a few especially observant consumers like you noticed, we weren’t able to completely eliminate the bubbles."Although they did not verify if they added any ingredients, or what the exact formula change was, they implied that suds should be our new normal. I hope this helps anyone who is questioning if something is wrong with their newest box of Stridex in the red box. I am going to continue using my box nightly, as I have not noticed any negative effects of the formula change, aside from slightly more dryness. Has anyone else noticed these changes? If so, what are you using to combat the dryness this winter?
