Beauty Tips For Body Care
The man I saw has been in the skincare industry for over 20 years. He let me in on some of his personal insight and opinions regarding skincare that include:The makeup/skincare industry is one big marketing campaign that sells consumers unnecessary items. Most if not all skin issues (acne, KP, etc.) are related to genetics.Retinoids and sunscreen are some of the most important things for your skin.Physical exfoliation only damages your skin and using your hands or a wash cloth should be good enough. He thinks tools like Clarisonic are overrated. He uses soap and water to wash his face. That’s. It. He’s tried many products, both expensive and drugstore, and he finds scentless soap (not Dial, Axe, etc.) does just as good of a job as a cleanser. He has fabulous skin btw.He doesn’t seem to find hyaluronic acid to be the holy grail everyone claims it to be, although he does think it is an effective moisturizer.I was blown away, especially after being a subscriber of this sub for so long (and yes, I am aware everything said here isn’t 100% accurate either) and reading others experiences with products and skincare. I don’t know if I necessarily agree with everything he said; I feel like it’s more likely a YMMW situation. What are your thoughts?
