Beauty Tips For Body Care
You know, THE Aztec Clay mask. The super powerful one that you can either mix with ACV or water.A few years back I tried it out for a while, maybe twice a week, and was scared of using ACV on my face, so I only mixed it with water. At the time I was 21 and just starting to suffer from really bad acne out of nowhere, which I went on to suffer from until now - I'm 24. The mask didn't really do anything to help much back then so I went to just using it occasionally.Fast forward to now. I had a horrible breakout in January, the worst of my life, and I didn't know what to do. I've been really trying to get to the bottom of my acne for the past few years, like researching. My dermatologist was little to no help - I didn't want to take Accutane, I wanted to figure out why I went from having clear skin my whole life to having terrible acne as an adult. I never really found something to fully solve the problem, only things that reduced it here and there. In the midst of this I was suspicious that I could have PCOS since most of the acne was hormonal, deep cysts on my chin and jawline. I wound up looking back into bentonite clay and found a video made by someone who was transitioning - F to M. I'm, not personally trans but their story stuck out to me because their hormonal acne was caused by the excess testosterone that they were taking... While I clearly don't have enough testosterone to turn my body into a male's, excess testosterone is usually what causes hormonal acne in women. This person recommended that you use this mask not once a week, not twice a week, but every single day and sometimes twice a day! WITH ACV. Which most people do not recommend because the mask is so STRONG. But this was the only change that they made in their life and skincare routine and their video documented their improvement to be pretty linear.I decided to repurchase the mask myself and try mixing it with ACV. After the first mask, I noticed a slight reduction in my acne so I decided that maybe I could try it every other night for what I considered to be an intense regimen. Basically, it wound up stopping any new pimple or zit in it's tracks. If there was one that was about to emerge, it would think twice after I applied the clay! I noticed on the days that I didn't use the mask, I would still start to develop more acne. - For the record, before beginning this mask routine, I was developing new acne every single day - The mask was reducing my acne faster than it was emerging. So I decided to start using it everyday... and sometimes twice a day. It wound up turning this cycle in my skin around and I finally got it into a stage of what felt like remission and healing. I was no longer producing new acne and only healing the old scars. I then went into a stage of preventative measures - even though I didn't have any new acne emerging, I kept at my routine of using this mask once, and sometimes twice in a day... and yes, with ACV.It basically broke the cycle of my skin producing new acne every single day. If you look at my skin now you wouldn't believe the photos that I took of how bad my skin was in January. My acne is gone. My skin is flawless. I have one scar on my chin. Given there are a few other things in my skincare and lifestyle that help a little... bentonite clay and ACV is definitely one of the primary, if not main factor in healing my acne. Now, if I miss maybe... two consecutive days of use... I might feel a tiny breakout thinking about emerging, like two pimples underneath the skin on my chin threatening to emerge... but after applying the mask they don't. So I believe that I am still somewhat acne-prone and if I were to stop using the mask daily... I might start to break out again... but who cares... I found a really solid solution. My skin is healthy, it hasn't been damaging in any way. Even my dermatologist who was instant on my getting on Accutane was blown away at how much my skin had improved. So what's the deal with this? Why does it work so well with my skin and why does my skin actually rely on it to stay clear? Of all of the things that I could have to rely on, I definitely don't mind this being the thing that it does...
