Beauty Tips For Body Care
Background: I had only small T-zone breakouts as a teen, but when I went off to college I started getting persistent acne (cheeks, jawline, and mouth). My confidence was so low I barely left my dorm/apartment. I tried all the drug store products. Then I tried all the elimination diets. Then I found this sub and tried all the “holy grail” routines. Sometimes my skin got a little better, sometimes it got a lot worse. I never had “clear” skin.Dec 2018 I graduated college, got my first “adult” career job and the other shoe finally dropped. I called a dermatologist (very scary for me). I was prescribed Plexion lotion (am) and Onexton gel (pm). The derm said we might have to adjust the treatment, but within 6 weeks I was getting no new breakouts. I’m still using the Onexton (every other night). I stopped using the Plexion because the lotion has a thick consistency and I didn’t feel like it was doing much. Now it’s over a year later of being acne-free, and I only regret that I waited so long to see a doctor. I feel like my college years were a constant struggle where my mood was impacted by my skin each day. I hope anyone who’s in this position right now will find something that works for you. Thanks for reading.
