Beauty Tips For Body Care
Buckle up folks, this will be a little lengthy. Some background:I recently placed an order from Deciem, which included the Hyaluronic Acid + B5, which I have used before, and 3 products that are new to me: the Marine Hyaluronics, a 10% Mandelic Acid, and the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres. As I said, I've used the HA + B5 before, and re-ordered it more than once, but to be honest it's never really wowed me. I kind of thought it was overrated, but I wasn't against it either; the stickiness was a little meh but it always went away after adding my moisturizer and I figured it was still giving me some moisture, and not breaking me out, so whatever. I mix it with my resveratrol right before moisturizing and it helps it to spread better. Great.Enter Marine Hyaluronics. It caught my eye when I was ordering the Vitamin C, because I've heard people don't love the grittiness of that serum, and I'd read that mixing it with a bit of hyaluronic acid helps to take that feeling away. I thought the regular HA would be too thick for that, and my plan was to use the Marine Hyaluronics mixed with the vitamin c and resveratrol in my first step of the morning (after rinsing my face). Currently I haven't tried that yet, as I'm still finishing my Skinceuticals CE Ferulic (which was given to me as a gift - RIP my face after it runs out).Okay, so onto the review in how I'm using it. Let me preface this by saying:I have only been using it for a week (my face breaks out immediately if it doesn't agree with a product, though, so as of now I maintain that this product will not break me out), andI love love love a good lightweight moisturizer. My skin type is normal/combination with hormonal acne and breaks out/gets irritated easily if my skin doesn't agree with a product. The only thing I don't love about the MH is that by itself, it doesn't spread that easily (considering that it is the texture of water I am not surprised at all). I have been mixing it with my already lightweight moisturizer (Dermalogica calm water gel) and I absolutely love how nicely this goes on. I already loved this moisturizer and now it's even better. My current routine:AM:Warm water rinseSkinceuticals CE FerulicSpot treat: 2.5% benzoyl peroxide for active acne lesionsHydrating mistDermalogica calm water gel + 2-3 drops Marine Hyaluronics + 1-2 drops TO resveratrolSPFPM:Double cleanse (bioderma sensible micellar water + Dermalogica special cleansing gel)PC BHA leave-on exfoliant (every second day)Skinceuticals Retinol 0.3 (wait 30 minutes)Spot treatHydrating mistDermalogica calm water gel + 2-3 drops Marine Hyaluronics + 1-2 drops TO resveratrolLRP Cicaplast healing baumeToday, I decided to split up my morning moisturizer combination. I've been wanting to try azelaic acid for a while, so I had ordered the BC booster and have patch tested it, but was yet to use it on my entire face. So I decided to go back to my old system of mixing the resveratrol with the hyaluronic + B5 right before my moisturizer, and then mixing moisturizer + MH + AA.Oh my god you guys. I never realized just how sticky the HA + B5 was until now. And it's still true that after using applying my moisturizer the stickiness mostly went away, but I am now hyperaware that I can still somewhat feel it. I don't know what I'm going to do with the remainder of it. Maybe I will use it at night, maybe I will use it on my neck or other body parts. All I know for sure it that, for me, the Marine Hyaluronics is far superior in application and in results. My face feels more plump and hydrated than it has in a long time.By the way, the moisturizer + MH + AA also went on like a dream, so I'm hoping that AA turns out to be a good product for me and that the vitamin c + resveratrol morning combo is also a hit! I will keep you all posted for those who are interested. To summarize:Product name: The Ordinary Marine HyaluronicsHow long you've been using it: one weekPackaging: I feel like most people know, TO uses those pretty little aesthetically pleasing glass bottles, and this product is no different with an easy to use eye dropper for dispensing.Product feel and smell: I have not noticed any weird smell at all, despite some reviews saying it smells like dead ocean? It literally smells like nothing and feels like water.Positives: lightweight, no smell, easy to use and dispense, does what it advertises.Negatives: may be difficult to spread if used on its own. What you bought it for: extra hydration.Overall opinion: in love and prepared to go through many bottles.Thank you all for coming to my TED talk and congratulations if you made it to the end of this!
