[Anti-Aging] Shouldn't Retinoids age you faster?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm currently a flaky mess from using Tretinoin and it got me thinking if retinoids work by increasing skin cell turnover, shouldn't it age you faster?I get that a faster turnover rate means less time for the damage to "stick" per se, but I always thought that telomere length was shortened every time a cell decides. Therefore, if you are accelerating the time it takes to divide, your cells' telomeres get shorter, quicker, which should mean you age faster right? I'd love to know why I'm wrong, though, because this stuff has been magic on my acne!
