[skin concerns] Can a damaged moisture barrier / dehydration lead to flushing?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Back in march I damaged my moisture barrier after using a harsh cleanser, very hard water, and over-exfoliating. Since then, for the first time ever my skin has had "flushing" episodes in which my cheeks turn red and hot after triggers like being in the wind, moving from cold to warm environments, and being in sunlight. These triggers are also rosacea triggers, so I'm wondering if I damaged my moisture barrier to the point that it caused rosacea, or if this is just the result of sensitivity that will stop if I can improve my barrier / dehydration. Usually calms down within a few minutes if I can take a walk in the cold, otherwise takes a hour or so to calm down. Also gets better if I take a nap. There are some pics in my older posts. Thanks!
