[Misc] The impact of lifestyle

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So, even though we are a sub primarily focused on topical skincare, I do think every so often it's important to remind ourselves that other choices and habits in our daily lives can have a huge impact on the health and appearance of skin, especially in tandem with one another. For instance, when I was in my late teens and early twenties I smoked a lot of marijuana, thinking it was completely benign. While I stopped smoking it in 2013, to this day I have signs of premature aging and redness that I definitely think it contributed to. I also didn't do any proper skincare on a regular basis until age 25, so my unprotected and unmoisturized skin was not exactly getting any of the help that it needed.I take extra care nowadays to eat a balanced diet high in antioxidants, good fats, and micronutrients (and low in refined carbs, sugar, and standard cooking oils), I try my best to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night, and I practice relaxation techniques to help me tame stress and not let it throw my hormones (and my skin) out of whack. In addition to my skincare routine this is all a lot to commit to, but I do find it very rewarding (both for my skin and my overall being in general) and I suppose that the benefit they could have on my skin issues is a big motivator for my making these changes in the first place. All in all, our skin is a part of our bodies and it needs care from a lot of angles (not just topical products). When has the health and appearance of your skin been a big motivator for you to make a particular lifestyle change?
