[Acne] Week 9 of Differin and my skin is absolutely horrid. How long did it take for you to see results?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've suffered from every kind of acne you can think of since I was 14. I'm 35 years old now. Mostly moderate cystic acne.I decided to give Differin a try once it became OTC. For the first 5 weeks or so, it had a minimal effect- bit more acne that normal, some dryness. Nothing I couldn't handle. Once I hit week 6 all hell broke loose.I'm on week 3 of my purge right now, and I'm having a really difficult time not tossing this tube into the trash can. I know it's doing what it's supposed to do, but I genuinely can't tell if I'm purging or having a really bad reaction to it at this point. My skin has never been this bad. I get ready for work in the morning, look in the mirror an hour later and have new pustules on my face. New zits just pop up hourly. Only positive from this stuff is my acne heals a lot faster once the clog is out.I've always been a picker and while I've gotten better with age, this purge has wrecked me. Some spots are so damn painful I can't help but use a lancet to drain cysts that have come to a head. So now I have scabs all over my face in addition to the active spots. My mental health is really bad in the winter due to SAD (add covid on top of that) and my skin is making me feel even worse. Thank goodness I can wear a mask at work, because I wouldn't leave my house in normal times with my face looking like this. I have a date this weekend (socially distanced walk) for the first time in a year that I'm going to cancel because I can't even cover this mess with heavy duty foundation. It was stupid of me to even schedule it.Does anyone have any advice for me, commiseration? My routine:AM Cleanse with Cerave Hydrating Facial CleanserMoisturize with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizering Factors + HASunscreen Supergoop Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 or Neostrata Defend SPF 50PM Cleanse with Cerave Hydrating Facial CleanserMoisturize with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizering Factors + HA or Cerave in the tubDifferinMoisturize again with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizering Factors + HA or Cerave in the tubRosehip Oil OccasionallyTIA.
