Beauty Tips For Body Care
I love Biossance. I followed their Instagram for years before finally making a purchase (broke college student) and have tried their products randomly over time. I, finally, got into a consistent skincare routine in the past couple of months from being frustrated with still experiencing acne. I started with CeraVe to get the basics down (thank you, SCA!), and then I started incorporating my favorite brand. As I was writing my routine and reviews, I realized that I was nearly describing each product as a relationship, so I rolled with it!Read on to see what Biossance products I love, just had fun with, and broke up with. (I also included my current routine at the bottom)Zine Sheer Mineral Sunscreen: The never say neverI tried Biossance’s old sunscreen formulation, and we broke up (white cast, weird texture, not great under makeup), so I switched to LRP Anthelios 50 Ultra-Light Tinted Mineral Sunscreen. I love everything about this sunscreen. I love that it is a mineral sunscreen. I love the super-fluid consistency. I. Love. The. TINT! (Hello, no makeup days!) Just love. LRP is my holy grail sunscreen now so, well, sorry Biossance, but I won't be switching even though the new formulation looks great. However, the new Jumbo size is significantly more cost effective than the LRP, so never say never.Antioxidant Cleansing Oil: The girl next doorMy general philosophy is to spend less on the cleansers and moisturizers, but CeraVe was not cutting it for makeup removal. I was not getting excited about any drugstore oil cleanser and did not want a balm, so I went with the brand I know. I also found that at $4.40/oz, there seems to be a lot of oil cleansers right around this price point but not that many much below it, so I think it’s a reasonable value. I was surprised at how effective it as at removing makeup for having such a light consistency. I almost overlooked my favorite brand, so this one is like “the girl next door.”Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum: The timing wasn’t rightI bought my first Vitamin C product shortly before Biossance’s came out. It uses L-Asorbic Acid + Vitamin E + Ferulic Acid. I like the LAA formulation so much that I would not try Biossance's new Squalane + Vitamic C Dark Spot Serum (3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid), at least not at this time. The timing just didn’t work out for us.Phyto-Retinol Serum: The flingThis actually has Bakuchiol, a plant-derived alternative to retinol. I like this product because it also includes niacinamide (3rd ingredient) and hyaluronic acid (6th). I’m using it to address some mild lines on my forehead, between my eyebrows, and around my mouth. I know retinols take some time to show their value, and I do not feel like I need anything stronger at this time, but I kind of want to try other retinols when this one runs out. So while I like it, I’m not committed, so we are just having a fling.Marine Aglae Eye Cream: The surpriseI thought I was on the “eye creams are overpriced and overhyped” train, but I tried this one and was instantly converted! Yes, it’s moisturizing, but the secret of this cream is that any pore that this cream touches (like tops of cheekbones) is SNATCHED the next morning. I don’t know what ingredient contributes to that but I swear! This one is the one that came out of nowhere, and I fell madly in love with.Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Cream: Either the rebound or the one that restored my faithThis is the second lactic acid that I have tried, and it is way gentler than the first, which stung but definitely had an immediate result. I haven’t decided if this one is what I will stick with, or just a recovery from the first one before I move on.Gel Probiotic Moisturizer: The bad break upThe first few of days that I used this moisturizer, I felt it was just okay. Given my love for the brand, I kept trying. Then I started getting little red bumps on my face. Everyone loved the moisturizer so I thought I must just be me. When the bumps didn’t go away, I stopped using it and my skin recovered. I avoid all prebiotic and probiotic skincare products because of this one.Omega Replair Moisturizer: The out of my leagueI have gotten this moisturizer in the past a couple of times, and I really like. It feels luxurious and is extremely hydrating. I just cannot justify the cost for a moisturizer. I love it, but I am relegated to a life of loving it from a distance.Glycolic Renewal Mask: The one-night standWe met, we had fun, but there are so many other masks in the sea to have fun with.ROUTINE(30 yo, female, mild dryness, very sensitive)MorningCleanse: Rinse with water or quick wash with CeraVe if neededTreat: Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Super Glow Serum (Vitamin C)Moisturize: Bliss Rose Gold Rescue Gentle Moisture for Sensitive SkinProtect: LRP Anthelios 50 Ultra-Light Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Spf 50EveningCleanse 1: Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing OilCleanse 2: CeraVe Hydrating Facial CleanserTreat: 2x per week: Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night CreamTreat: 2x per week Squalane + Phyto-Retinol SerumEye Cream: Biossance Squalane + Marine Aglae Eye CreamMoisturize: CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing LotionWeeklyMask: 1x per week Organic Whole Milk YogurtExfoliate: 1x per week physical exfoliation with True Glow Sonic Facial Brush Kit by Conairhttps://preview.redd.it/ut0hgvl20wl61.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=18ef97f252ab39276b44d5df3cc4706f09971947https://preview.redd.it/u3oz25040wl61.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=06586a84c9bb67c5e76ffac001e13ea0b3093e85https://preview.redd.it/4sjp96w40wl61.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=f5d3d1bbb70f112a1a74321140ebfc9f2deff608
