[PSA] Withholding good skincare tips from others to one up them is scummy and insecure

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I recently came accross a comment on the r/tretinoin subreddit that annoyed me a lot. The person talked about how their mom and aunt purposefully omit their tretinoin usage when other people ask them about what they do for their skin. Basically lying by omission. They will talk about other products, but not about this one product that probably does the most besides spf. This type of competitive, unsupporting and purposefully dishonest attitude is incredibly toxic. And the comment was upvoted. The nice thing to do would be so simple, inform the asker about tretinoin, inform them about the potential hurdles of using it... that's it. We should help and uplift one another, not mislead and drag others down to make ourselves feel better.Ew. Smells like insecurity in here.(I've already made a circlejerk post about this, but I kinda wanted to say it here too.)
