Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey there, I'm 24F, and I'm actually waiting on an appointment to get my hormones checked because I'm pretty sure they're out of whack. My deal is, I've had acne since I was 10.My entire face is blackheads. All these fucking blackheads I have, I've had for years. I get a lot of whiteheads on my forehead, chin, near my ears on the sides of my face, and around my nose. I've had two horrific cystic flareups in the last year that I've never experienced before. One was so bad, half of my face was swollen and I could barely open my eye. The cysts felt like they were the size of grapes. The antibiotics I was given both times fucking knocked it ALL out pretty much over the period of one day and I was astonished it worked so well, but it wrecked havoc on the rest of my body. My skin was super clear, though. After that, my derm prescribed me Cetaphil facewash, Epiduo, and some type of cream to use in the shower, but you only apply it to your face for 10-15 seconds before it starts burning.Anyway, I started that regimen in September, and then I moved to North Carolina from southern CA in August. I think the soft water there must have been kinder to my skin, because my back and chest acne nearly disappeared (even though I didn't use any products in either place), although my face looked the same. The only thing the Epiduo does is fight inflammation for me, but my blackheads never got smaller and I never saw results. Then, after moving to NC, I became vegan in September. My skin looked amazing for three weeks, then got shitty again. I quit using all the products after I hit three months with no results. My acne was okay at best during my time in NC, but I just moved back to southern CA in April, and my face just looks terrible. My back looks terrible. My chest looks terrible. And it's painful.I don't currently have any specific regimen except for washing my face in the morning, freshening up during the day if I can, and then washing it in the shower. I am doing the exact same thing I did in NC, but I yielded better results there than back here. I am still vegan and the majority of my diet is rice, beans, veggies, legumes, potatoes, hummus, nuts, and I only drink water, and I drink about 100oz a day most days. So I'm pissed my skin looks the same as it always has, even when I ate like crap.I do not spend time in the sun, and I don't touch my face as often as other people do because I've trained myself not to over time. I also change my pillowcases several times a week. I also used birth control pills for several years throughout my teens and never saw a change. Went of all BC from ages 19-22, and when I was 22 I got a Mirena IUD. No significant change. What should I be trying until I can find out if it's a hormonal problem? My appointment is a month out.I appreciate anyone's insight - thanks in advance. You guys are an awesome community (I'm a long-time lurker).
