Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi there! I just found this sub yesterday and can honestly say that this is one of the most newbie-friendly subs I've seen on reddit. I'll be starting a proper ScA regimen as soon as my student loans go through :) For reference purposes, I don't know what skin type I have, although I'm prone to small spots and bumps on my face if I'm not 100% perfect about cleaning my face every day. They especially form next to my ears, next to my hairline, or in the little crevices around my nose and mouth. I do tend to get very chapped/dry in the winter, though.I'm having some issues with shaving though. I know this isn't necessarily a ScA problem but I was hoping you might be able to help. I use the standard Equate (Walmart) brand disposable 2-blade razors and Edge shaving gel (Long story short- the most basic stuff possible). I sometimes rinse my skin and perhaps use some basic soap to wash my face before shaving, but I do often forget. I always clean off my face afterwards with hot water to get the remaining shaving gel off, or I shower. Often times, it hurts when I put the hot water on there (it's very sensitive).Anyway, I have tons and tons of small red bumps all over where I shaved now. My friend says it may be ingrown hairs but I'm not sure. They're slightly painful and very prominent, which is not good. (They do seem to be worsened by the cold, dry air here in Wisconsin.) They also don't seem to go away very easily. My question is this: What is this, how do I prevent this in the future, and how do I get rid of the bumps I have now? Moreover, how do I shave with these little bumps all over? This just looks bad for me when I'm trying to go on a date with a pretty girl (and let's face it- I need all the help I can get in that department), so what do I do?(I also tend to get small cuts on the bumps on my face when I shave. Any advice for that too?)
