Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm convinced that PA levels are the most confusing things on the planet. So people have emailed Elta MD in the past about PA level. 11 months ago Elta said that the Elta MD sunscreens were all PA+++.https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/2ag4n8/psa_elta_md_sunscreen_pa_and_ppd_ratings/When someone in SA posted a month later, 11 months ago, they said they got a response that the PA for all the sunscreens except for one was PA++++.https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/2yhbfq/ppd_of_elta_md_uv_clear_spf_46_and_response_from/Now I look on Elta MD's website in the Sunscreen FAQ section and she says that all the Elta Sunscreens are actually PA+++ and makes it sound like this is the highest possible PA level?http://eltamd.com/learn-about-skin-care/Also, she didn't mention this answered FAQ PA question in either of her responses to those two commenters which would mean that the FAQ isn't outdated or anything... just wrong.I am EXTREMELY confused and concerned that because PA is not really a standard measurement in the US companies are getting away with saying random things or making things sound vague. I'm not accusing them of this, but it's very frustrating how difficult it is to get a straight, clear answer. I was just reading another post where someone mentioned that Neutrogena claimed a PA++++ rating for one of those sunscreens... which is sort of unbelievable to me given the ingredients. On Skinacea Elta MD only gets a PA ++ rating and I've heard that PPD won't be that high unless the product contains meroxyl (which is pretty much only la roche posay; and on Skinacea their PPD level is way higher than any other sunscreen). If Elta MD is truly a PA++++ how do the ingredients achieve this?
