[Personal] Thank you.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful people on this sub, because the things I have learned here have changed my entire approach to ho I take care of my skin, and it's really starting to show.I've had skin issues my entire life, and acne-related problems since about 11/12 years old, when I started puberty. My face, back, and chest were the worst. I would get these horrible cystic situations that would spread, take forever to resolve, and sometimes never truly go away. My skin was oily, red, and full of blemishes all of the time. I saw a dermatologist who didn't take my concerns seriously, so I stopped seeing her after a while and just learned to live with how things were. I was constantly embarrassed by how I looked, and everything I did to try and cover it up only made things worse.Fast forward to about 15 years later, and I'm still having issues, even after seeing a dermatologist who put me on spironolactone, adapalene, and dapsone, except my main issue now is red, flaky, tight skin on my face that burns with the gentlest of products. It was only after a desperate Google search led me here that I realized that my problem was not my dermatologist's recommended treatment regimen; rather, it was the way I was cleansing/moisturizing! I was cleansing my skin like it was still oily, but the combination of meds and age had caused my skin type to change over the years, and I was the one causing the problems by unnecessarily drying myself out. I lurked hardcore on this sub, perused the sidebar, slowly changed my routine, and HOLY CRAP has it made a difference. I'm seeing fewer and fewer breakouts, my skin is soft and supple, and I haven't seen a dry/red patch in weeks. I'm so happy, I could cry. This is an amazing sub, full of wonderful, supportive people, and I am so happy that you were there when I needed you.My routine, for anyone who's curious:AMCeraVe Hydrating CleanserBliss Peeling Groovy serum (AAE's + Vitamin C)CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (the tub)Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20PMCeraVe Hydrating CleanserReviva Labs Hyaluronic Acid serumCeraVe Moisturizing Cream (the tub)Adapalene (as needed, mostly in T-zone)Dapsone for spot treatments
