Beauty Tips For Body Care
TLDR- last paragraphI'm very religious about my sunscreen use, but have noticed in the last few weeks that my arms still seem to be developing new baby freckles and my dark freckles/moles seem to be getting darker, despite always applying liberally and being very careful to reapply (even more often than needed tbh). When I looked last night, I saw that my spf 50 only has 5.6% titanium dioxide and 3.7% zinc oxide. This is pretty bad on the UVA front, isn't it? (I've seen some posts suggesting zinc oxide content should be somewhere around 20%, which is what my face sunscreen is.) The other sunscreen that I sometimes use on my arms is chemical spf 50, and avobenzone 3% homosalate 15% octisalate 5% octocrylene 7% and octinoxate 7.5%. I know that octocrylene is supposed to stabilize avobenzone, but have also read that octinoxate decreases the ability to do that. So am I losing UVA protection from that? But the TLDR and the real question here is: are freckles and moles (and I guess following that, the skin cancer that they can turn into) caused by UVB rays or UVA rays? Is the lack of UVA protection the reason my freckles are darkening even though I'm being super extra liberal with usage? Or are they caused by both kinds of UV? I searched for past posts covering this topic and couldn't find any, help me please!
